Commissions

Painting to a place, or to a frame

I take a small number of commissions each year. Most begin one of two ways: a place someone wants painted, or a frame they already own and want filled.

    Enquiry

You send photographs of the place, or of the frame, and tell me roughly what you want. There is no charge for this stage.

  2. 02

    Sketch and quote

I send a small colour sketch and a fixed price. Price depends on size and on whether the frame is sourced or built.

  3. 03

    Deposit

Half the price up front. The remaining half is due when the piece is finished.

  4. 04

    Painting

Usually 3 to 5 weeks. I send one progress photograph partway through, and one before varnishing.

  5. 05

    Delivery

Framed, wrapped and shipped tracked from Germany. Worldwide shipping available.

Care and materials

Works are painted in artist quality gouache on paper and finished with a matte protective varnish. They are stable in normal indoor conditions. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from damp walls. Dust the frame with a dry soft brush; never use water or cleaning products on the painted surface.
